Humuhumunukunukuapua'a

this was my very first record on eleganz.

freshly arrived from hawaii, i was both in an inspired and mellow mood. i was experimenting a lot with loops and voices and i had just purchased my beloved oscar teller acoustic guitar. i also owned a neat little toy, the waldorf 4-pole analog filter bank, and i filtered the fuck out of every single track.

named after the hawaiian state fish humuhumunukunuku-apua’a, the album came out in 1999. well, the label had the rather disputable idea for an “vinyl-only” release, so it was sold out in no time, and the following months i had to spend a great deal of time and effort burning shitty cd-r copies for all my friends and acquaintances.

 for many of the aforementioned, humuhumu is their favourite treu album of all.
and i think it has aged quite well.

so here it is again, this time as “digital-only”.
